COVID 19 – Town Council update for 19 July

As restrictions ease, we want to reassure you that your continued safety is our prime concern.  We want you to feel comfortable and safe when visiting us.

From 19 July 2021, most of the national Coronavirus restrictions will be eased but caution is recommended.  We are asking for your help to keep everyone safe and will be continuing with the following measures.

  • Face masks will be required to be worn in all Council buildings unless medically exempt.  Face masks can be removed when seated.
  • Hand sanitiser is available in all our buildings - please continue to use.
  • A one-way system will be in place for entry to and exit from the building.
  • Social distancing is encouraged.  We recognise that some people will be uncomfortable with close contact and therefore we are asking for those in attendance to be mindful of others personal space.
  • Limited numbers to all rooms to ensure that everyone has space where they can feel comfortable.
  • Access to the building will continue to be for those who have booked or are attending an event in one of our rooms.  In the Town Hall, the Foyer area is therefore unable to be accessed for gathering or waiting.
  • The Town Council office is open but cannot be accessed by the public due to restricted access to the building .  Contact numbers are available if you need to get hold of the office and we can arrange an appointment if you would like to speak face to face with a member of staff.

Although the Government have lifted many restrictions infections are increasing in our area and the Council has a duty of care to all hirers, members of the public and staff.  The Council want the Town Hall and other Council premises to remain a safe environment where people feel comfortable to visit. If our staff become unwell this would jeopardise all events and we wish to avoid this at all costs.  We aim to revisit our measures in September

Like everyone else we would much rather throw open our doors and return to normal.  That time will come but for now we must work with these measures for everyone's safety
