Wadebridge Town Councillors Emma Pate and Ian Welch joined the Camel CSA (Camel Community Supported Agriculture) team at Treraven Farm on Friday 6 January 2023 for their Wassail and orchard tree planting event.
Cornwall Councillor Martyn Alvey, Cabinet member for Environment and Climate Change planted the first tree in the new orchard – a Cornish Kea plum. A further 45 trees, including traditional Cornish varieties will be planted later in January by members and volunteers.
Wadebridge Town Council fully supports Camel CSA and wishes them well with their new orchard project. We would like to thank all of the members and volunteers for their commitment to the ongoing important work they undertake.
A big thank you also to Wadebridge Renewable Energy Network - WREN who administers the funding for Camel CSA. Others who have assisted with this project include; Clean Earth Energy, the Forest for Cornwall project and Cornwall Councillor Robin Moorcroft (Wadebridge West).
WREN will be holding a ‘Your Energy Transition’ day on 26 January 2023 in the Town Hall and we will be sharing details of that in a separate post.
