Burial fees are reviewed by the town council annually with amended fees being applied from 1 April each year. Please see the link below for the current fees.
Burial forms (Notice of Burial) will be provided to families by the Funeral Director arranging the funeral – this applies to both full burials and burial of ashes. If you wish to bury ashes without using a Funeral Director then please contact the Town Clerk’s office to discuss arrangements for this.
Stonemasons will provide the Town Council’s application form for anyone wishing to place a memorial (headstone or cremation tablet) on a grave or memorial plot. An application is also required for additional inscriptions to existing memorials. Please note that only the persons(s) named on the Exclusive Right of Burial (ERB) will be able to make a memorial application. Please refer to the Exclusive Right of Burial page for an explanation on ERBs.
It is usual practice for Funeral Directors and Stonemasons to include any Town Council fee within their own invoice – they will forward the fee directly to the Town Council.
