This morning at 8am, Deputy Lord Lieutenant Gaynor Coley read out the D-Day Proclamation on the steps outside of the Town Hall.

The reading of the D-Day Proclamation at 8:00am, was a national act of commemoration and remembrance carried out by other Towns and Parishes around the country.

Deputy Lord Lieutenant Gaynor Coley was joined by the Mayor Cllr Ian Welch, Deputy Mayor Cllr Kelly Rowe , Wadebridge Town Councillors, Cornwall Councillor Robin Moorcroft, members of the Royal British Legion along with many members of the community who assembled to witness this historic moment.

Wadebridge Town Council would like to thank everybody who attended and participated in the event.

Thank you to Debbie Bate Photography for capturing this moment in history and to Mike Ford for use of the PA equipment.

Today we remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for us to enjoy the freedom we all do today. God Save the King
