*Volunteers Needed*
Wadebridge Town Council are looking for 7 volunteers to assist with the road closure for Remembrance Sunday on Sunday 10th November 2019.
The timings required for assistance are approximately 10am-12:30pm. The volunteers will be there to cover both sections of the closures, 10:20am-10:50am & 11:50am-12:15pm.

Remembrance Sunday 2019:
On behalf of Wadebridge Town Council and the Royal British Legion (Wadebridge Branch) we invite you to the Remembrance Parade and Church Service on Sunday 10th November 2019.
Schedule as follows:
• Commencing 10:15am, Memorial Stones, Egloshayle Playing Fields, Wadebridge - an Act of Remembrance, wreath laying and two-minute silence will be take place at this location. Please assemble at the Memorial Stones by 10:00am.
• Parade & Service – following the above, there will be a parade to Egloshayle Church where the Remembrance Service will be held. If you do not wish to take part in the Parade then you should be seated in Egloshayle Church by 10:50am
• Post Service Parade – following the Church Service there will be a parade back to the Memorial Stones.
Monday 11th November 2019, 11am –
In addition to the above, you are also invited to attend the Act of Remembrance held by Wadebridge Town Council outside the Town Hall. An Air Raid Siren will sound the start of the two-minute silence and the all clear.

COMMUNITY GOVERNANCE REVIEW
Following the Community Governance Review public engagement meeting which took place on Wednesday 2 October 2019 in St Issey, Wadebridge Town Council would like to respond to some of the comments made.
We would like to advise you, the Parishioners of Wadebridge, that:
We are currently reviewing our Community Governance submission and are grateful for the opportunity to listen to the Parishioners of our neighbouring Parishes who were passionate about where they live.
A passion shared by the Parishioners of Wadebridge about where they live.
Following the Community Governance Review public engagement meeting which took place on Wednesday 2 October 2019 in St Issey, Wadebridge Town Council would like to respond to some of the comments made.
We would like to advise you, the Parishioners of Wadebridge, that:
- We believe there is an imbalance in the funding of services in Wadebridge where you alone pay for services that should be shared more evenly.
- We have received no offer of assistance for the funding of the Library from either of our neighbouring Parishes. We have been operating the library for nearly a year and have had no representations from either Parish.
- We are not salaried bureaucrats – Town Councillors receive no pay for their services to the Town
- Town Councillors are aware of the requirements of their roles and attend training regularly.
- We are not inefficient and have not mismanaged our budgets.
- We are an aspirational council looking ahead to provide Social Housing for local people and Youth services.
- We are not seeking to reduce our staff numbers through redundancy to cut our budgets.
- We are not on a land grab mission.
- We do not have delusions of power or a need to be in control.
- We receive car parking charges from everyone who uses our car parks and that includes Wadebridge Parishioners. We pay Cornwall Council £33,500 in business rates for our car parks and our car park income is also shared with the Co-op.
- Your Parishioners have previously expressed an interest on the services delivered in Wadebridge.
- We are all here to represent our Parishioners.
- Wadebridge Parishioners do not consider themselves ‘Townies’ with no idea of what happens in the countryside. Wadebridge is a market town.
- We await your proposals for the Library.

Flood Warning in force: North Cornwall Coast At Wadebridge and Chapel Amble.
Flooding is expected for: low lying parts of Wadebridge including Molesworth Street, Harbour Road, Eddystone Road, Southern Way and Trevilling Road, and Chapel Amble.
Immediate action required.
Flooding is expected over this evenings high tide on Monday 30th Sept. The time of high tide at Padstow is 7.06pm . Expect the weather conditions to cause water levels to be 150 mm higher than forecast tide levels. This will be 150 mm above the levels seen on Sunday night.
High astronomical tides and Force 5 West South Westerly winds, combined with offshore wave heights of up to 2.2m are forecast to cause flooding to properties. Large waves and spray are likely, so take care near coastal paths and promenades. There may be localised standing water on roads - do not drive through flood water or waves.
Locations particularly at risk include Molesworth Street, Harbour Road, Eddystone Road, Southern Way and Trevilling Road.
What you should consider doing now

* Act on your flood plan if you have one.
* Move your family and pets to a safe place.
* Move your car or other vehicles to higher ground, if it is safe to do so.
* Use flood protection equipment, such as flood barriers, air brick covers and pumps to protect your property. Any equipment should be professionally supplied and installed to help reduce the impact of flood water.
* Move important items upstairs or to a safe place in your property, starting with cherished items of personal value that you will not be able to replace (such as family photographs). Next move valuables (such as computers), movable furniture and furnishings.
* You may need to leave your property, so pack a bag with enough items for a few nights away. Include essential items including a torch with spare batteries, mobile phone and charger, warm clothes, home insurance information, water, food, first aid kit and any prescription medicines or baby care items you may need.
*Turn off gas, electricity and water mains supplies before flood water starts to enter your property. Never touch an electrical switch if you are standing in water.
* If it is safe to do so, make sure neighbours are aware of the situation and offer help to anyone who may need it.
* Listen to the advice of the emergency services and be ready to evacuate your property if told to do so. Most evacuation centres will let you bring your pets.
* Avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. 30 cm of fast-flowing water can move a car and 6 inches can knock an adult off their feet.
* Flood water is dangerous and may be polluted. Wash your hands thoroughly if you've been in contact with it.

This surgery is arrange to give you the opportunity to discuss aspects of the Governance Review, but Phil will be happy to also discuss any Parish issues you may have.
